Friends left me the honor to tell you the story of this island...
I will try to take up the challenge!

Imagine at the beginning of the thirteenth century. The lords of "Pont en Ogoz" have just completed their castle. It includes 4 towers, or keeps, surrounded by a cliff and a moat having a drawbridge. It controls the isthmus by which one reaches the peninsula formed by a large loop of the Sarine river. In the bottom of the cliff and at the edge of the Sarine, are about thirty small houses; it is the town of Ogoz. Dependence of the Savoy county, the seigneury will become, with the partitions and divisions, the first bailiwick of Fribourg. At the beginning of sixteenth century, like numbers fortifications of the times, the castle will be cut up and will become building materials (explaining its current state). Hundred years later, the village will be deserted, prelude to its future disappearance under water after the Rossens dam building in 1948. Perhaps, as a way of saying sorry for falling it into oblivion, the Gruyere's lake will make its treasure of it...

To know some more, and in particular the legends "of the two towers" and the "bridge of Tusy"... (in French).

Beautiful landscape scene. The warm lighting and brilliant greens are wonderful. The reflection adds more texture and life to this very nicely composed photo. Well done.

The clouded mountain gives us a picture with two kinds of weather at the same time. The castle being warmly lit by the sun therefor seems like a safe haven.

Gorgeous colors. They are so rich and beautiful. The reflection is like a painting. The topography of the hills rising up are so nicely seen in this photo as they gently roll upward. I like the fingers of clouds at the top of the ridge. It's a scene of what looks like a utopia. Very nicely captured.

A very beautiful shot, Pascal. Excellent colours and detail.
I like how the trees dominant the landscape. The reflection at the bottom is also nice. Well seen and framed.

Beautiful landscape and the reflections give it that extra touch. Well seen.

Just beautiful!! Thanks for sharing!
